Wondergy · A Hanukkah Spectacle
The Festival of Laser Light.
A captivating evening that merges Hanukkah traditions and science with breathtaking laser projection, music, special effects and hands-on learning — entertainment that educates, inspires, and celebrates the miracle of light, for all ages.
It begins with a single beam of laser light. Just one dot.
Move it fast enough and the physics of your own eyes turns one dot into a marvelous show. Add fog and haze and five laser sources, and the Hanukkah story becomes a duel of light — fantastic beams and lighting effects synchronized to your sanctuary's own architecture.
It builds to a giant menorah you'll never forget: each flame glowing a different color, casting shadows in the fog over the congregation. It's more like a rock concert with an exciting educational introduction — and it will dazzle adults, teens and kids of all ages.
A small jar of oil that burned far longer than anyone dared hope.
The Hanukkah story is one of underestimation and resourcefulness — a small force overcoming a large one, a little oil lasting far beyond its measure. It's the same idea at the heart of every laser show: we'll see how we can do a lot with a little by using it well — and that's what science and laser shows are all about.
One beam of light becomes a spectacle. That's the miracle of light we celebrate, and the wonder we hand back to your community.
A night your community makes together.
Every Festival is built around your room and your people. We weave your rabbi or director into the show, animate community members and sponsors in laser, and customize the finale to your sanctuary. Outside of the High Holidays, hosts tell us they've never seen their main sanctuary so full.
Add Paint with Light — a long-exposure "photo booth" workshop where guests draw with light itself, discovering the persistence-of-vision science behind the whole show. (Faces needn't appear; results land in a private, password-protected gallery.) An interactive science-and-Hanukkah introduction, six to eight songs, and a behind-the-scenes Hebrew-school talk round out an evening that educates as much as it dazzles.
Staged in synagogues, JCCs, performing-arts centers and gymnasiums. We bring the lasers, the lighting tuned to your sanctuary, a large sound system, and the songs. You bring a tall, dark room — and your community. Available any day or time, subject to availability.
We are a safe pair of hands. A few practical things make the magic possible — and we'll walk through all of it with you well ahead of the date.
- iA tall room. Ceiling height over 14 feet — the beams and the 8-foot menorah need room to breathe.
- iiReal darkness. Dark enough that it's hard to see large objects a few feet away. The deeper the dark, the brighter the light.
- iiiSmoke detectors silenced for the duration, so the fog and haze can do their work. Heat detectors can stay on.
- ivPower: 120-volt outlets on three separate 20-amp breakers.
- vA Tech Rider with the full detail is available on request — just ask when you reach out.
See it for yourself.
No photo quite captures a sanctuary full of laser light. This one comes close.

The best show I've seen.
The Festival premiered one December night in 2011 at The Jewish Center in Princeton — 300+ guests, every parking space filled, and when the giant Hanukkiah lit in the dark the room broke into spontaneous applause. It went on to run six years at the National Museum of American Jewish History, and has lit up synagogues, JCCs and concert halls ever since.
"From the music to the lights to the finale with the multi-colored flame lit menorah, everything was picture-perfect. All 300+ pairs of eyes were glued to our dome. The show was unique, mind-blowing and amazing." Tamara Ween · Temple Emanu-El, Closter NJ
"Wondergy's Festival transformed our synagogue. We hoped for 200–300 congregants — over 800 RSVP'd and attended. Outside of the High Holidays, one congregant had never seen our main sanctuary so full." Robert Hallock · Chizuk Amuno, Baltimore MD
"Everyone was blown away by the laser show, and left so excited and impressed. One congregant called it the best program ever done at the synagogue. I only wish we could do this every year." Gail Beckman Buchbinder · Congregation Beth Israel, Scotch Plains NJ
"Yesterday really was AMAZING. Thank you for all you did to put it together." Beverly Socher-Lerner · Temple Beth Sholom, Cherry Hill NJ
